Everyday is exhausting for all of us. We do a lot in a day. Today we saw around 150 patients at the clinic. We got to hold some babies, play some soccer, and treat a lot of people for arthritis, anemia, malaria, infections, worms, heartburn, and more. We had one man that was a celebrity. Everyone wanted a picture with him because he was 102 years old still walking on his own and relatively healthy. A real accomplishment in Haiti. So our patients age ranged from a few months to 102 years old.
We also gave out toys and soccer balls to the kids. We gave an elderly man one of our suitcases to use as a dresser. We sent one man to hospital for emergency care because his breathing was so bad.
After the clinic we went back to the guesthouse to clean up and grab some money for souvenir shopping. We went to the place we visited before in January where there are a bunch of vendors along the road. We have to be careful and mindful of the traffic but our translators do a great job of keeping us safe.
They also do a great job at getting us a deal. They ask for $10 and we pay $3. It's actually kinda fun to bargain with the guys. You gotta look tough you know. So no bongos this time though just bracelets and the pretty metal work.
Then on the way home we stopped at L'appetit, a little pizza place that we found on Instagram!! It had come up with the hastag Haiti so we remembered the address and it happened to be on our way home from souvenir shopping!! So our group got pizza on the way home! And they took a group picture of us and posted it on their instagram page! We're famous!!
Then again we came home for a moment, ate dinner at the guesthouse, then headed to another guesthouse where a group we know were having a worship service! Which was awesome! Those ladies can sing! My friend Jess and I were like if they play Oceans by Hillsong we are going to die. That was the next song they played. It really just was an awesome inspiring night. I loved all of it. The more I learn the more I fall in love. I wonder if some day I will call Haiti home for more than 10 days? #honoraryhaitian

Group Photo at Laodicea Hey Hey Hey! It has been a while since I have written an update like this. Life has changed a lot over the past several months. I have sat down to write an update several times, but I have not been fully sure of what I wanted to write. The last time I wrote an update was about a year ago when the decision had been made to leave Costa Rica early at the beginning of the pandemic. It seems unreal that it has been a year. Though there are many difficulties I could list from my own experiences this year, there are also many blessings. So this update is coming at you in the form of a list of blessings: 1. After returning home from Costa Rica I found a job that I was able to work from April to August. I know that many people lost jobs through that time and I was grateful I was able to at least work part-time. 2.
