I just realized I contacted absolutely no one Monday that is not here with me in CR. Mondays are our free days to go explore or get homework done and do things around the Villa. I saw no status updates, no pictures of friends, and no random tweets. I was completely present with the people around me and I enjoyed it entirely. Some of the different programs I have been involved with that asked us to set aside our phones have been the greatest experiences. It's amazing what happens when all your attention is on the people in front of you.
Most of the group started their day at the University of Costa Rica playing ultimate frisbee. We do have at least 3 or 4 girls that are all varying degrees of sick, please be praying for them. I guess it's usual for the students to all get sick at some point while getting used to our new home.
After lunch some students went shopping or exploring and others like myself settled in to play some cards. After dinner is when things got real interesting. It was the ping pong championship. The setup included about 3 cameras, 30 spectators, 2 announcers, one score keeper, 2 players and one trophy. You know it was a good game because we got yelled at... a lot... by the Costa Rican neighbor lady so we took the celebration inside. The rest of the night was more card games, playing guitar and ukulele, singing, and hanging out. I think our group is already finding so many things to love about each other. Be praying God molds us into a strong team.
Our classes start Tuesday and we will be taking a Spanish test to determine what level Spanish class we should be starting in.
Buenas noches

Dear Friends and Family, Many of you may know and some may not so here it is... drum roll please... I am headed back to Costa Rica, and this time it is for two years! This past February, I visited Costa Rica to recruit GAP students for Lancaster Bible College. While I was there I heard about their need for a new Female Student Life Coordinator. I never anticipated this position being available at a time when I would be in a position to take it. While I was in Costa Rica with LBC I was able to speak with the directors of the program who offered me the position. After I returned home I had a lot of praying to do. I took about two weeks to pray and seek good counsel. After considering my options and seeking Godly wisdom I called the director in Costa Rica and officially accepted the position. In this position my primary responsibility will be to build relationships with and disciple the GAP students in the program. We hope to have 20-25 college age st...
